Welcome to Occident

Occident is a continuation of the Discord Server which has been known as "Save Christendom", "IHS | By This Sign" and "The Alexandrian School". It is the passion project of two men, Raven and J.T. Alexander.

The purpose of Occident is to educate, inspire, and equip the next generation of Westerners to appreciate and protect the Western Civilization of which we are all heirs. Our community focuses on discussion of theology, politics, history, philosophy, and many other topics. Our goal is to honor Christ and our own ancestors by preserving the civilization they built.

Please check the FAQ page for information on creating an account and logging in with Occident.

The following Spaces are joinable on Occident:

• General - This Space is reccomended for all users.
• Religion - This Space is for discussion about religion and theology.
• Politics - This Space is for discussion about politics.
• Topics - This Space is for general topics, including hobbies and other niche interests.
• Gaming - This Space is for discussion about gaming.

Spaces are joined by clicking the links above. If you create an account on Occident.dev by following the guide on the FAQ page, you will automatically be added to the General space.

Once you have joined a Space, you should view the rooms in that Space. In Element, you can do this by double clicking on the Space icon on the far left of your screen, or by right clicking and choosing "Space Home". You will then see a list of each public room you can join within the Space.

Open Beta Release - April 14th, 2026

• Added Voice Chat functionality, including a single Public VC channel to start.
• Added Mjolnir, a moderation bot.
• The major Occident Spaces are all public now, and can be joined from within the Annoucements and Landing channels.
• Membership will now be open to all existing Users on the IHS Discord Server.

Closed Beta Spaces Update Part II - April 12th, 2026

• Simplified the onboarding process. New Users are now automatically added to the General space and a couple channels in the general space.
• Changed Server configuration to hopefully allow for better URL embedding.
• Added Religion Space with the following channels: Religion-General and Apostolic-Churches. More channels will be added to this Space in future updates.
• Added Politics Space with the following channels: Politics-General and Twitter-on-Matrix. More channels will be added to this Space in future updates.
• Added Topics Space with the following channel: Off-Topic. In future updates, this Space will include all hobby and interest topic channels.
• Added Gaming Space with the following channel: Gaming-General. This Space will also include additional channels in the future.

Closed Beta Spaces Update Part I - April 2nd, 2026

• Added Admin Lounge Space with the following channels: Mod-Lounge, Strategos-Lounge, Mjolnir, and Reporter. These channels will be used by the server administration only.
• Added General Space with the following channels: Annoucements, General, Byzanmeme Empire, Prayer Requests, and Support. These channels will be open to all Occident Members.
• Added icons for each of the new channels.

Closed Beta Rules Update - March 21st, 2026

• TOS Page added to the website, based on Matrix.org TOS.
• Rules Page added to the website, rules based on the old IHS/Alexandrian School rules.
• Added a custom theme (Occident) to the options for the Element Web Client.

Closed Beta Release - March 15th, 2026

• Chat launch into closed beta - Strategos users only for now.
• Occident Closed Beta Space launched with three channels - General, Landing, and Support.
• Onboarding procedure enters closed beta. Still not fully functional as users cannot enter the Landing channel on their own.
